Strengthening Algerian-Tunisian Coordination on the Sidelines of the African Union Executive Council

On the sidelines of his participation in the African Union Executive Council meeting in Addis Ababa, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, held talks with his Tunisian counterpart, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Mr. Mohamed Ali Nafti.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both ministers to exchange views on the key issues on the Executive Council’s agenda, underlining the importance of continued consultation and coordination on regional and continental matters of common interest.

The two sides also reviewed the state of bilateral cooperation between Algeria and Tunisia and explored prospects for its further strengthening, in light of the outcomes of the 23rd session of the Algerian–Tunisian High Joint Commission. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to implementing these outcomes effectively, in line with the directives of the two Heads of State, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and his brother, President of the Republic of Tunisia, Mr. Kaïs Saïed, with a view to elevating the bilateral partnership to the level of their shared ambitions
