The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received the letters of credence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana accredited to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.

Diplomatic relations between the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria and the Republic of Ghana are based on strong historical ties, established from the early years of African independence, in a spirit of solidarity, Pan-Africanism, and a joint struggle for the emancipation of the continent’s peoples.
Algeria and Ghana established their diplomatic relations in the early 1960s, shortly after Algeria gained independence in 1962. These relations developed within the framework of converging views between the two countries on major African causes, notably decolonization, African unity, and non-interference in the internal affairs of states.
Since then, bilateral cooperation has continued to strengthen, covering several areas of common interest, such as political consultation, economic cooperation, education, training, and cultural exchanges. The two countries also maintain close coordination within regional and international organizations, particularly the African Union and the United Nations.
Today, Algeria and Ghana continue their efforts to consolidate their partnership, founded on mutual respect, African solidarity, and the promotion of peace, stability, and sustainable development across the continent.
