Tunisian President Receives Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf within the Framework of the Trilateral Mechanism of Libya’s Neighboring Countries

As part of his official visit to Tunisia to take part in the ministerial meeting of the Trilateral Mechanism of Libya’s neighboring countries, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, was received by the President of the sister Republic of Tunisia, Mr. Kais Saied.

During this meeting, Minister Ahmed Attaf conveyed to the Tunisian President the greetings of his brother, the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, as well as his aspiration to continue working jointly with him in order to achieve further gains in strengthening Algerian-Tunisian relations, in line with the integrative vision they share for the present and future of the partnership between the two brotherly countries.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review the various areas of bilateral cooperation in light of the significant outcomes and qualitative results of the twenty-third session of the Algerian-Tunisian Joint High Commission, while emphasizing the need to translate these outcomes into practical projects and tangible achievements that would inject renewed momentum and further enhance the relations between the two countries.

With regard to the situation in sisterly Libya, the crucial importance of the Trilateral Mechanism of neighboring countries, which is holding a new session in Tunis, was underscored, with a view to exploring the most appropriate ways to provide support and assistance to the Libyan brothers, enabling them to overcome their crisis, reunite their ranks, and preserve the sovereignty, unity, and independence of their country.
